need help with filenames

Post by newbird »

new to this, and found PicaLoader very powerful. tried many others, so far it's the best. but I am having trouble on keeping original filenames. sounds a very simple issue, but i just could not figure out.
if i choose "original filename"on "new project", downloaded pic's names will be 'displayimage..' or 'getting...'. even the pics' format change to 'MS digital image document' :(

please some one can tell me how to fix this problem?
many thanks.

some site use php/jsp/asp or other technical to generate pics from database, so these pics have NO orginal filename:(
you can try to use "custom filename" feature to make a filename by yourself.

thank you for the assistance.

i tried a dozen programs like yours. most of them can't do even a simple job. PL did download from sites in which galleries layout relatively complicated. nice work!

i just found a new one, Bulk Image Downloader, simple and effective for single page download. maybe you can use as a reference.

thanks again, and good luck!

using the 'properties' to check each downloaded pic, the original file name is displayed in the URL address.... but how come it couldn't be actually the "file name"??
