i can not download the files which are marked only for friend and family,,,,the F&F pictures are visible to me but i can not download them using the pic downloader any way around this???

you can try to use Manual Login feature of PicaLoader.
or open flickr with IE, sign in with your account and password, check "Keep me signed in", keep IE open, run PicaLoader and start download.
