Batch Download Pictures From Website

For some reason picloader will sometimes make 10 thumbnails for 1 image. The first thumbnail renders normally but the preceding ones are corrupt and look blocky. Any ideas on what causes this? I did a database optimization and thumbnail rebuild to no avail.
