Batch Download Pictures From Website

What does the program look at for knowing what are dupes? filesize? crc? I know it's not the file name...as I just use the program to find the links to the pictures and use a differant program to d/l after altering the url's found, to retreave pics that have the same file names with extra chars. in ...
