Batch Download Pictures From Website

If i download any pictures they get renamed. Is there an option to keep the original file names ? If not, why ? Also if not, picaloader knows the original name of each file it has downloaded so can it rename the totally unlogically named files to their original filenames ?
Why does picaloader rename the files anyway ?
